Kiwanis Club meets Wednesday
Kiwanis Club of Kailua-Kona will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Makalei Golf Club.
All visiting Kiwanis and prospective members are invited.
Kiwanis looks to serve the community by conducting service projects that respond to identified needs, especially related to children.

Hospital auxiliary holds semiannual meeting
The Kona Community Hospital Auxiliary semiannual meeting is planned from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Kona Vistas pavilion on Leilani Street just off Lako Street.
Attendees will learn about Hawaii Life Flight (emergency medical evacuation) and how they can save money on their annual membership. The informal meet and greet lunch will be furnished. Make reservations by Aug. 24 by emailing KCHAuxiliary@hotmail.com or calling 322-6960.
Hawaiian Airlines is most punctual airline
Hawaiian Airlines was U.S. airline industry’s top-ranked carrier for on-time performance in June, as reported by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Hawaiian Airlines’ flights arrived on schedule 91.1 percent of the time, earning the DOT’s top ranking for punctuality. Hawaiian also ranked third in fewest flight cancellations for the month of June with 0.2 percent, representing 11 cancellations out of 6,731 flights.
New massage school hosts open house
Medical Massage Academy open house planned
Medical Massage Academy hosts an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 27. The school in Paa Pono Professional Plaza at the corner of Kuakini Highway and Hualalai Road.
Attendees may check out the facility, get a free 20-minute massage, win a free massage and get $50 of towards tuition for the next level one class which starts in September. Medical Massage Academy offers all classes needed to become a Licensed Massage Therapist.
